DESCRIPTION:
- 20 sheets of Risograph-printed paper in a range of patterns depending on availability
- Paper weights and colors may vary.
- Each pack is unique and every page may be different.

PAGE SIZES:
- Each sheet is approximately 4” x 5.5” – a ¼ sheet of standard letter-sized paper.
- The final trimmed sheet size may vary depending on the original paper size.
Owl and Ember Paper Packs are created as raw materials for collage, art journaling, scrapbooking, and other creative endeavors. Our Risograph-printed papers are unique and every sheet is different. They may be overruns from a printing project, patterns and colorways created for new products, or unique patterns created during the Risograph inking process – which resembles screen printing on paper.
Occasionally we offer themed packs which contain papers in particular colors, patterns, or weights, or other variations.
The inks used in the Risograph process are soy-based without a drying agent which is better for the environment. But as a result they never truly dry. Papers with a high ink concentration may smudge or react in other ways depending on how you use them. That’s all part of the artistic process! A NOTE ABOUT RISOGRAPH PRINTING:
O & E Paper Packs are produced using a Japanese Risograph printing duplicator. Imagine an old-fashioned printing press and a fancy copy machine had a baby -- that’s the Risograph. Each color of soy-based ink is laid down separately -- like a printing press -- on rich, toothy paper. Like screen printing, each page must dry completely before the next color is applied -- a process which takes days.
The soy inks are applied like paint, and occasionally some smudging may occur. This is to be expected. And as with any handmade product, imperfections are part of the charm! The result is a beautifully printed, handmade product with rich colors and an artistic feel.
Owl and Ember produces each printed product in small batch runs at our headquarters in Menlo Park, California. All Owl and Ember products are printed on FSC Certified papers.
